In the third quarter of 2024, the social networking sector in the United Kingdom showed varied performance across its top applications, according to Sensor Tower data.

Threads from Instagram, Inc. saw significant growth in weekly downloads, peaking at approximately 280K in early September. Weekly active users also demonstrated a positive trend, increasing from about 3.7M at the start of July to over 4.3M by the end of September.

WhatsApp Messenger maintained a steady user base with weekly active users consistently around the 54M mark, slightly increasing towards the end of the quarter. Downloads showed a notable peak in the first week of September, reaching around 158K.

Telegram Messenger experienced an upward trajectory in weekly revenue, starting at approximately $45K in early July and climbing to around $75K by the end of September. Downloads remained relatively stable, with a peak of about 128K in late August. Active users showed a slight decline from 2.6M to 2.5M over the quarter.

Life360: Find Friends & Family demonstrated a steady increase in revenue, reaching approximately $167K by the end of September. Downloads peaked at around 101K in the first week of September, and active users increased from 2.8M to over 3.1M throughout the quarter.

Facebook from Meta Platforms, Inc. saw a gradual rise in weekly revenue, concluding the quarter at around $120K. While downloads remained steady, active users hovered around 35M, showing slight fluctuations throughout the period.
